Alan Alda is an actor, director, screenwriter and comedian who has had success on stage, film and television. He is best know for playing Hawley Pierce on M*A*S*H from 1972 to 1983. He not only starred in the series, but also wrote 19 episodes and directed 32 episodes, winning five Emmy Awards for acting, writing and directing. His work in Broadway included dramas, comedies and musicals, and earned him three Tony Award nominations. He has appeared in 36 films from 1963 to 2017, earning an Academy Award nomination in 2004 for The Aviator, and he continues to work in television. He has been married for over 60 years, and is known for his charitable work and contributions to women’s rights causes and education. Join us for an entertaining look at the man and his career.

In the words of the director Mike Nichols, ''She sings like Spencer Tracy acts.’' Clooney was among the first rank of popular singers for more than half a century, and made several movies, with White Christmas a perennial favorite. To hear her sing is a joy, and this talk will be full of examples of the artistry of Rosemary Clooney.

Her famous pin-up pose during World War II adorned barracks all around the world, and she became the highest-paid actress in Hollywood. She was famous for her “million dollar legs,” and acknowledged “there are two reasons why I am successful in show business and I am standing on both of them.” Her film popularity continued until musicals declined in the 1950’s, when she focused on the stage and night clubs. Her films are highly entertaining, and Grable remains a shining example of a true star.
